TOTALLY (NOT), DUDE!
Living in Maine requires alot of patience and tolerance when it comes to weather and more specifically, snow. I don't mind snow, but I become sick of it after, oh about, 6 or 7 months of it. People in this state try to turn snow into a positive; they hit the mountains. These people that go to the terrific Maine mountains do this sport called skiing, or for some, snowboarding. I call it suicide, my personal opinion. Listen, I've tried the snowboarding and skiing thing and I just don't get it. You go up to the top of a mountain, you strap your feet into a piece of hard plastic in which, unless it breaks, you cannot escape. So even if you're falling to an inevitable death, you better pray that your expensive skis or snowboard snaps in half so you can live. I do enjoy watching professionals on TV because they know what they're doing and the chance of them dying are slim to none. Maybe I hate it because I am slightly less than successful in my many attempts at a mountain sport. I also enjoy feeling safe which snowboarding or skiing does not allow me to have. Do what you have to do to make yourself feel alive, but for me, I'm going to stick with breathing.
haha! i'm not very good at skiing and have only been a few times in my life. I went for the first time in february in a LONG time and it was terrifying. towards the end of the day i was doing better but it's one of those things that i definitely hate to suck at.
